Vista Group invests in high
tech production machinery
Vista Group plc, manufacturer of PVC door
panels and composite doors has recently invested in excess of
£300,000 in state of the art production machinery at its
factory in the Wirral, Cheshire.
The advanced technology includes a new SCM
double headed CNC machine, a new extraction system, two diamond
bead adhesive machines, six cold presses and three waste compactors
that will allow the company to recycle up to 80% of its waste
material. The new machinery was needed to increase production
capacity following an influx of new orders due to contract wins.
Star of the show is the double headed CNC
machine. It allows two doors to be machined in the same time
that it previously took to machine one door. It automatically
sizes the door and routes out the apertures for the glass and
letterplate. This new equipment is effectively twice as fast
as the existing machines as one door can be loaded while the
other is being routed.
Vista Group’s Managing Director, Keith
Sadler says: "this capital expenditure will help Vista
to cope with the increased demand from our customers from both
the public and private sectors. The new CNC machine has significantly
increased our capacity and further improved the quality of our
doors. It will enable us to reduce our lead times for composite
doors over the next few months and so improve our customer service.
