Vista acquires the assets of Timberlike Doors

Vista Group Plc has recently acquired the assets of Timberlike Doors Ltd after the company went into administration.

Timberlike's range is manufactured using a solid timber core protected by a PVCu skin which is then edge banded. All materials used in the construction of Timberlike doors are recyclable. This unique composite construction effectively bridges the gap between uPVC doors and timber doors.

Timberlike doors proved highly popular with private landlords, local authorities and social housing providers. Some of the 150 units manufactured per week were sold through domestic PVC window and door companies.

Commenting on the acquisition, Vista's Managing Director Keith Sadler says: "This will allow us to offer our customers a stable door, edge banded door blanks, colour on colour options and also a competitively priced fire door.

He continues: "This acquisition, including three CNC machines, will increase our manufacturing capacity by some 50%. Timberlike was previously based in Cheshire, as we are, so we will now house their manufacturing within our own factory. We are currently looking at plans to relaunch and re-brand the Timberlike range.

He concludes: "This is a very exciting acquisition for Vista. It expands both our product range and our manufacturing capacity. Along with our acquisition last year of Portal Panels infill panel business, this firmly establishes Vista as one of the door industry's leading manufacturers."
